SMT is looking to appoint an experienced Key Accounts Manager to join our dynamic and innovative sales team. As a Key Accounts Manager, you will work within the Cleaning Efficacy Unit to successfully improve our Cleaning Eficacy sales. As a department, we are focused on continuous improvement, and are tenacious and innovative in achievement of our ultimate goal of bussiness growth.
This is a newly created role, with responsibility for securing sales, and create access to new clients. As a Key Account Manager (KAM). You will be empowered to lead, develop and implement the strategy for your accounts with both autonomy and support from management. This is a field-based position where we would normally expect regular travel. As a Key Accounts Manager your main responsibility will include leading and analyzing market dynamics and competitor strategies; expanding customer base and seeking new business development opportunities.
You will have a degree or equivalent
3-5 years sales and/or marketing experience in the chemical industry
Knowledge of the Chemical environment will be an advantage
Ideally you will have a current understanding of the current situation with regards to Cleaning Efficacy and Chemicals
You must have a high degree of computer proficiency and be able to work well under pressure
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate your experience of developing strong relationships with key stakeholders at the highest decision-making level leading to mutually successful outcomes
The ability to develop and implement account specific strategies nationally is a prerequisite
To be effective in this role, you will have entrepreneurial drive, a curious mind and tenacity
You will demonstrate a history of working within a target driven environment with a proven track record of meeting / exceeding targets. You will also have strong exposure to creating and developing client relationships and a proven track record in new business sales success
We expect you to be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong drive to take the initiative and responsibility for your deliverables and own learning. You proactively address and solve problems and make recommendations to the business for changes and improvements to plans.
